How do I take the tinctures?

Tinctures are typically taken in 3-4ml. doses as needed, say in the hours before sex (formulas #12 and #19). Though some formulas are meant to be taken daily, to build sexual energy and balance hormones over time (#24, the hormone balance formula, etc.).

Do you use any additives in your formulas?

Never.

Are there any side effects? Will they affect any medications I may be taking?

The only formula that is important to be careful with is #19. It’s a potent male aphrodisiac and performance enhancer, but can not be used when there’s an incidence of heart disease or high blood pressure, or in patients on blood pressure medication or MAOIs.

Can I take any of these if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

#16 and hormone balance are perfectly safe while breastfeeding. Nothing I make should be taken while pregnant.

Can I take multiple tinctures at the same time?

You can absolutely blend an everyday formula with one that you take just in the hours before sex for a heightened experience.

What are aphrodisiacs?

True herbal aphrodisiacs are a class of herbs with quantifiable pharmalogic action that can enhance blood flow to the genitals. These herbs have various constituents and secondary properties, so they work in different ways. Some aphrodisiacs tone reproductive tissue, others enhance testosterone and other sex hormones.

Do herbal aphrodisiacs actually work?

I contend with an incredible amount of skepticism about herbal medicines here in the United States. This is not the case in many other parts of the world, where physicians incorporate herbal remedies into their practice. Like pharmaceuticals, different herbs have different degrees of efficacy for different people. But they are often incredibly effective, and we see that in the clinical data.

How long do herbal aphrodisiacs take to work?

This depends on the formula, the person, and the herb itself. Aphrodisiacs like Tribulus and Maca work best when taken regularly over time. Others, like Yohimbe and Muira Puama typically generate a response within a few hours. A longer timeframe may be required for those who experience chronic issues.

Why try aphrodisiacs instead of Viagra or Cialis?

Viagra and Cialis can be wonderful in the right application. But what they don’t do is correct imbalances that prevent healthy libido and sexual performance, or restore innate sexual potency.

What are your qualifications?

My training integrates traditional and clinical herbalism.

I started making herbal medicine in childhood, taught by my German herbalist grandmother. After high school I decided to formally study herbalism, completing several clinical intensives.

I subsequently apprenticed with traditional healers in West Africa; studied Ayurveda in Nepal; and worked alongside a naturopathic physician.

What is your favorite formula?

My personal favorite is the original Sexpot formula, No. 12 - and I love it because of its versatility. It's specifically formulated to amplify and arouse sexual energy, but is safe and mild enough for regular use.

How long do they take to ship?

Things ship within 2 days to 2 weeks, depending on what we have in stock, or what needs to be pressed. If we know your order will take more than a week to ship, we will send you an email to let you know.
